The Vango Planet 100 is the perfect choice of sleeping bag for travelling to countries with a warm climate, and will keep you comfortable down to 8°C. The real benefit of this sleeping bag is the Vango Shield technology, which has been upgraded from last year’s model, providing a higher level of anti-microbial and insect repellent protection on both the sleeping bag fabrics and mosquito net. The other main update to the Planet 100 is the mosquito net that you can find in the foot area of the bag. It’s a great way to create air flow and ventilation within the sleeping bag by unzipping the foot of the bag, and you can still sleep easy knowing you wont get any night time visitors!
The sleeping bag also includes a mosquito net in the hood, which is lightweight and removable if you decide you’d rather sleep without it. The net is great for keeping insects such as mosquitoes off your face during the night and can also be zipped up during the day to stop bugs from crawling inside and giving you a nasty surprise when you climb inside on a night! When you’re not using the mosquito net, simply unzip it and store it in the mosquito net storage pocket located in the sleeping bag’s lining.
The Planet 100 has a silky polyester lining, which is soft and comfortable against your skin and a single-layer loose shell construction to provide optimum warmth and comfort. The loose shell design means that no stitches are made through the sleeping bag lining, which helps to minimise cold spots and keep you nice and warm during the night. The sleeping bag also benefits from a cosy hood and tapered mummy shape to promote insulation, and you can open it out and use it as a blanket if you get too warm inside! Designed specifically for travelling, this sleeping bag packs down to 26 x 17cm and is supplied in a reversible fleece lined compression sack. The stuff sack can be reversed, stuffed with clothes and used as a pillow for added comfort!
