After the success of their best-selling Farpoint series, Osprey have introduced a female counterpart! The Fairview 55 comes with all the same great features as the Farpoint but has one key difference in the form of its female specific back system.
Main Backpack
The Fairview 55 features a 42 litre main compartment and a removable 13 litre daypack which can be unzipped from the main bag for day to day use during your trip. The main compartment includes two compression straps which help to compress its contents, maximise packing space and keep everything tidy inside your bag. You also get a large zippered mesh pocket for storing dirty laundry separate from the rest of your clothes and accessories. The Fairview can be carried like a backpack but packed like a suitcase thanks to its large zippered panel opening, which is also equipped with lockable zips for security of your gear. Osprey have also included external lash points, so you can attach additional items to the outside of the bag if you manage to run out of internal packing space.
Back System
The Fairview's female fit back system features a lightweight peripheral frame, ergonomically shaped harness, yoke, hip belt and back panel, which provides a more comfortable fit for women compared to unisex travel packs. It also has a ventilated die-cut spacer mesh construction which is a godsend in hot and tropical climates! When you need to check your backpack in for flights, simply zip the backpack harness away behind its protective zippered cover to protect it from damage in transit.
Daypack
You'll need a smaller backpack for daily use during your trip and the 13 litre detachable daypack included with the Fairview 55 is ideal! This feature packed daypack has a generously sized main compartment with a padded 15.4" laptop sleeve and zippered pocket for your passport, tickets, guidebooks and other essentials. It also includes dual mesh front pockets for storing your water bottle and a small 'scratch-free' pocket for electronics and sunglasses! If you want to clip the daypack to the front of the main backpack harness, you can easily do so using the kangaroo style daypack attachment – a great feature in unknown areas and destinations with a high crime rate!
